Michael McIntyre was 2012's biggest selling comedian
Holy crap. While it's no real surprise that Michael McIntyre was the biggest selling comedian in the world last year (he was admittedly everywhere), the amount of money he pulled in is unbelievable. You may want to sit down.
According to Pollstar, a concert trade publication, McIntyre pulled in $33.9 million last year. Yes, million. And his average number of tickets per venue? Just shy of 50,000. The Showtime tour played to over 639,000 people in 73 arenas, including ten nights in a row in London's O2 and four nights in our O2. I guess it's not that expensive to fund a show that's literally a man standing in front of a mic, but imagine. That's about £21 million. For making jokes. Madness.
