Michael McIntyre hurts leg while slagging Joe Hart

Isn't karma a bitch? Yes indeed it is. The Sun report this morning that UK comedian Michael McIntyre landed himself in a spot of physical bother after taking the piss out of England goalkeeper Joe Hart's failed attempt to keep Italy's Andrea Prilo's penalty kick from hitting the back of the net (during their Euro 2012 match) while performing to an Irish audience in Cork's Opera House.

Unfortunately for McIntyre, he went just a tad too far in his attempt to imitate the goalkeeper's fateful manouvre. Throwing himself full force into a re-enactment, he landed painfully on his leg, called for an earlier than scheduled interval and hobbled off only later to reappear on crutches. The comedian then had to finish the remainder of the show sitting down. Lucky for the Cork audience though, they were given an exclusive opportunity to see just how funny McIntyre can be without all that lepping around he usually does on stage.

He joked to the audience: "You can search your souls. You're all entitled to your money back. Don't mind me. I am very rich. This is not the show you paid for - unless you enjoy casualty waiting rooms."

With McIntyre's never ending ubiquity of late, it mightn't be a bad thing for him to take some time off and rest up. Then, when he's good and ready to go back to performing he can endure all the smart arses who'll no doubt tell him to 'break a leg'.
