7th September - John Doyle's, Phibsoro

I absolutely love Maeve Higgins. I love the way the she tries to slip Bronx expressions into every day speak and her from Cork, brilliant! I went to see her a few times at different comedy festivals and no two shows are ever the same, she strolls onto stage looking like a librarian who is dating your brother and launches into her slighly warped view on life, connecting immediately with the audience, especially women, and she has us all nodding along to her observations on human behaviour. I don't know how many times I turned to my friend and went "yep I do that ALL the time". She is from a large family in Cork and refers to them during her shows. I can only imagine how much fun it was growing up in the Higgins household. She has included her sister Lily in her show "Ha Ha Yum" where they bake cakes on stage whilst keeping us in stitches, it is honestly like being in the Higgins house, watching them go about their household chores, chatting away.
Maeve has enjoyed an illustrous career, being a principal actor/writer on Naked Camera, as well as appearing at all the major comedy festivals, Edinburgh, Kilkenny, Melbourne. She has a regular, Tuesday morning, slot on The Ray Darcy Show on Today FM called "What would Maeve do?", which provides tongue-in-cheek advice to listeners' questions.
7th September, Maeve is playing in John Doyle's Phibsoro, it promises to be a great night, go on, stroll down and see if you find yourself nodding along.
