Frankie Boyle Lands New Variety Show

Frankie Boyle is set to return to Channel 4 to present a new show this summer after his axe from his C4 show ‘Tramadol Nights’ last year. The controversial comedian’s show, The Boyle Variety show’ will be alternative take on the 'Royal Variety Show' with a mixture of comedy, celebrities and modern cabaret.
‘The Boyle Variety show’ is part of Channel 4s two week comedy special. A spokesman for the show described it as ‘Frankie’s unique take on a royal variety event. The show will come direct from a London theatre and feature content so cutting-edge and scurrilously funny that no self-respecting royal would dream of attending.’
'The Funny Fortnight' will run over two weeks this summer and has a stellar line up which includes a new sitcom from the co-creator of Father Ted Arthur Matthews and Matt Berry called ‘Toast of London’. Blake Harrison from ‘Inbetweeners’ fame, the brilliant Fonejacker’s Kayvan Novak, Smack The Pony’s Sally Phillips and impressionist Morgana Robinson are also set to star in sketch show ‘Them From That Thing’.
Alongside this Harry Hill is set to return to present a show called ‘Harry Hill: Reunion’ which will see all his original cast from his Channel 4 show come together. Peter Kay, Lee Evans, Alan Carr are also lined up to premiere new stand up shows.
Shane Allen Head of C4 comedy said ’Funny Fortnight is a chance to celebrate our achievements with a raft of new shows featuring many of the biggest names in British comedy.’
