ComComedy sharing with entertainment.ie!

Words: Caroline Foran

Exciting news on the comedy video front this week: New website ComComedy.com has just launched its brand new site and guess who's going to be sharing its content? We are! Operating as a YouTube channel alone since being founded in 2009, ComComedy has finally found its own home to screen exclusive standup and comedy festival content. And all for your viewing pleasure.

So what exactly do ComComedy feature? Here's what you can expect to see the British comedy site share with entertainment.ie:

Artist Profiles: sections of high profile comics' on stage acts, spliced with exclusive interviews meaning you really get to know the comics that you personally like, as well as find about the rising stars on the scene. (Previous ComComedy videos of this nature include Jimmy Car, James Acaster and Nick Helm)

Industry Insight: More in-depth interviews with legends of the comedy world. This will include not only A-list comedians but also discussions with high profile producers, writers and more. (e.g. Griff Rhys Jones, Jon Richardson)

Sessions: One off performances by musical comedians in unique locations. (e.g. Carly Smallman, The Three Englishmen, Four Poofs and a Piano)

Specials: Coverage of one-off comedy events, such as The Wrestling which won Spirit of the Fringe at the Edinburgh Festival last year.

What we will also get to share with you comedy hungry Irish folk are nicely put together features from various comedy festivals around the world such as Altitude, Latitude, Edinburgh Fringe and more.

As mentioned above, comedians including Jimmy Carr, Griff Rhys Jones and Jon Richardson have already appeared on the channel and this star studded list is set to expand rapidly. ComComedy hopes to be the largest archive of comedy circuit videos existing on the internet and we at entertainment.ie hope to bridge that gap between top UK/international comedy and Ireland by joining forces.

Watch this space!

Here's a nice featurette featuring our own Andrew Maxwell from this year's Altitude Festival. Skiing and comedy. If there's any justice in the world, next year we'll be there with (sleigh) bells on.
