I really don't get why people say that this was the worst Superhero film for years, it was amazing. now it has nothing on Batman Begins but i think that this was as good as any one of the Spider-man films. For the first film of a new Superman franchise it had the perfect mix of action and drama. It started of pretty slow but when it got going it got going and they couldn't have picked a better baddie than Lex Luthor and couldn't have picked a better person to play the evil mastermind. Kevin Spacey brought his usual brilliance to the screen and I must say I enjoyed watching him as a bad guy, and he did a phenomenal job. It's nice to see a film where the audience can see that the superhero is loved by every citizen and doesn't show them being turned on every time they make a mistake (spider-man, Batman). Brandon Routh was very good as our hero and I hope to see him continue with the sequels. I also hope Bryan Singer remains in the directors chair despite recent speculation that Incredible Hulk director Louis Letterier will take it over. so overall I thought this was an action-packed and entertaining film throughout and as far as superhero films goes is as good as your going to get.
