Amazing film - summertime
I saw this film without any expectations. If anything I thought I would find it too 'alternative' or 'indie'. I was, in fact, majorly impressed and bowled over by the story of Alexander Supertramp and his epic journey. Whether or not people agree with what Chris McAndless did or not is beside the point in my opinion. I thought that the acting was fantastic, the characters endearing and the story and it's originality, quite brilliant. I have also read the book and think that Sean Penn did a top notch job adapting a seemingly patchy and fragmented story into a coherent, gripping film. It's the type of film you'll think about for days after. Top marks to everyone involved and I can't wait to see more of Emile Hirsch.
