Back to the future of science fiction - tetsujin1979
The promotional materials for Andrew Stanton's first live action film were uninspiring at best, but do this epic, sprawling tale of a former Confederate officer telegraphed to Mars (or Barsoom) and thrust into the middle of another civil war no justice whatsoever. This is the original science fiction, that went on to inspire aspects of everything from Clark Kent's alter ego to the Matrix.
With a wide variety of supporting characters, encompassing large, speedy, lizard-dogs, four armed green giants and a red-skinned love interest who is as far from the standard damsel in distress as it possible to be, this is an epic film that for whatever reason isn't made any more. See it before they decide to not make another one.
