Not as Good as it should have been - niamh
I was disappointed with this film it is totally disjointed and although there is a talented cast the story and the director does not get the best out of them.Guido played by Daniel Day Lewis is a film maker and after a great start he has done some disappointing films and now the pressure is on for him to produce something special which unfortunately he does not, but I did not warm to Guido he is a selfish egoistical man who just runs away from everything and leaves a mess for others to deal with and a string of broken hearts from women who love him. By the end I did not care whether he made a good film or what happened to him as he was not a pleasant charachter. There are some great performances from Penelope Cruz and also from Judie Dench but overall a disappointing film and not a musical to remember.
