This is a good film with a harrowing story which will not be for everyone this film follows Precious an Obese American teenager who lives with her abusive mother played by Monique (I do not think I have come across a worse Screen Baddie in my life you will hate her in this movie).Precious father has gone away but before he did he Raped precious and made her pregnant with a child that has Down's Syndrome which is looked after by Precious Grand Mother and is only ever in the house when the social worker arrives to do a visit to see are they entitled to their benefits. Precious is asked to leave the school because she is pregnant again the father unfortunately is her father again. Just then there is a ray of light as Precious gets sent to a school for difficult children and the teacher helps her and shows her she is worth something and the other pupils also help her along and she has her baby and decides she will make a go of it she goes home and has a fight with her mother who nearly kills her and she runs away. We are all rooting for precious now and she gets her life together but then another blow comes when her mother delivers some divesting news. This is a hard film to watch and is powerful you will cry and be stunned at the same time but the acting is fantastic and it really makes you think how lucky you have it.
