The Dark Knight
As amazing on DVD as on the BIG screen. - Christie
The Dark Knight is as good on DVD as it was on the big screen. It is so beyond all other Action Comic Hero films that it is easy to forget that the Batman wears a cape and that his enemies slap on funny makeup or that they unrealistically have half their face burnt off. I love the X-Men series also but when watching X-men I find I am always reminded of the fantasy aspect of the whole thing. Not so with the new Batman series and definitely not with The Dark Knight, the feeling is that this could happen in any town, anywhere. Batman and the Joker become as real as any a Bruce Willis character and his numerous film's enemies. The Dark Knight should have been titled The Joker as Heath Ledger's character steals the film; who cares about the guy playing Batman when the Joker is strutting out of a hospital with his lovely wig and heels? The Joker is a vastly improved enemy for Batman compared to that of Dr. Crane in the first; though maybe in the third film there might be a balance achieved between enemy and main character? Just to help the audience remember who we are actually rooting for.
