Recently while putting together some information on presentations I cam across quite an interesting fact about the functions of the brain. Apparantly, our brains are much more capable of processing images that words, or should I say much faster. Even more so if those images are in colour. Well, Wall-E give us the images, which are in colour, and removes the words ( for the most part). And the result is truly spectacular. The story kicks off following the life of the last "living" robot, you will understand when you see the movie, who, despite being completely alone and without any form of supervision, continues with his daily chore of cleaning the entire planet destroyed by our good selves. His only respite being his cockroach companion and a video tape of an old musical. His routine however, is completely knocked out of whack when the elegant and beautiful Eve arrives. Eve is also a robot but there is a world of difference between them. It's Lady and the Tramp type situation. As the story unfolds with the mysterious Eve searching for something and the lovesick Wall-E following her every move we are given some thirlling moments, some funny moments and some wonderfully tender moments. Then suddenly it hits you... No conversation!! Wonderful! The animation on Earth is tremendous. The Background scenery at first unimpressive, but upon second glance gives you more to think about. It does change when the locations changes but I don't believe that it's anything less. The protagonists are both pure brilliance, completely different yet both endearing. Wall-E's eyes are so expressive and they sure can tug on the old hearstrings! The on the spaceship animation is none the less amazing with some wonderful little touches such as the cleaner robot who cannot stand dirt. If there is a movie that you should see this year or next, it's Wall-E.
