Predicatable but enjoyable - Aine
I really enjoyed this movie, although I can't imagine for the life of me being invited to 27 weddings yet alone being bridesmaid in 27 weddings! I've enjoyed Heigl in Greys anatomy and before that in Roswell where she played the very aloof Isabelle very well. I think she did really well in here playing slightly dowdied down leading lady, she does harassed, overly involved and slightly too controlling neurotic character in love with her boss really really well. Her meeting with Marsden's character is quite accidental but well done, and he becomes captivated by her. Obviously a number of predictable twists and turns before the happy ending though. Marsden is very charming here, very likeable (given I haven't liked him in anything else other than hairspray before maybe I'll have to revise my view of him too!), he does the whole interested, curious and determined thing very well. The singing scenes were brilliant, his comic timing also is good, while not the worlds most exciting role he made it his own. Probably the best scene is the actual 27 dresses sequence - where there are some real dingers in there, although why Heigl's character was keeping them was a puzzle. A nice turn off your brain rom com. Let's face it, we all love them!
