Hellboy II: The Golden Army
Whoops - missed the plot ! - kee
I was really looking forward to this one. The sequel to the sleeper hit Hellboy, with Guillermo del Toro at the helm, the original actors back, and a bigger budget. How could it miss? Unfortunately they found a way. The 'plot' is not great with a Elf Prince (Luke Goss) declaring war on humankind, and seeks to get the Golden Army of the title to help him. Grand, but then very little of this is progressed in a coherent way (with subplots of Hellboy (Perlman) and Liz (Blair) having 'problems' and a new boss for Hellboy to deal with). It's like the movie is trying to cram too much into a limited time, and missing out vital bits of the story. Only OK, and therefore a disappointment.
