Don't let the ads for this movie fool you, it's much better than they make it out to be. Jolie, your classic action babe puts on another great performance that tops all her previous performances in Tomb Raider and Mr & Mrs Smith and James McAvoy puts on one of his biggest performances since Last King of Scotland. The story starts off with an everyday nobody Wesley Gibson (McAvoy)working in his cubicle hating his life thinking that nobody knows who he is, he feels worthless and miserable. All this changes when Fox (Jolie) shows up in his life and tells him about his father (who and how he was an excellent assassin who has had recently been killed) and the Fraternity he worked for wants him to join them as his father did. The Fraternity is run by Morgan Freeman who hands out the names of those who are to be assassinated, and you know that if Freeman is in it then it has to be good!! Gibson's father walked out on his family when Gibson was only a week old, so it took some convincing to get Gibson to join the Fraternity. The training is brutal and he gets all sorts of beatings, but these are done to make him hard and able to defend himself, he eventually graduates (for want of a better word) and becomes an assassin with his first target. He struggles with his first target, he questions why should he be doing this, but after a discussion with Fox, he realises that it's not for him to question who he kills, he has to follow the orders if he has faith in the Fraternity. After this the twists kick in when he is sent to kill the man who killed his father and the fight scenes are gory and brutal, but very good. This is a great movie and very entertaining, it's the matrix meets Mr & Mrs Smith. GO see this on the big screen..
