In Bruges

In Bruges - Completely Over-rated - Headlights
After hearing all the good reviews I looked forward to this film, but was very dissapointed with it. Sorry, but this is laboured stuff from start to finish! The film struggled for basic identity. Also, how people can call this an Irish film is beyond me. Eh, In Bruges..hello? Gleeson, Farrell only appear home for cameos on Tubridy Tonight! Irish director - fair enough.
This film was so slow it was beyond belief. The story line itself could have been a short 5 minute movie. Farrell's eyebrows could win an oscar by themselves, or at least for best support. For me the Gleeson/Farrell mix didn't work. The dialoge mirrored something from Fair City, on a good day... Farrell's constant use of the term "Bruges is a kip" was irritating to say the least. Come on lads this could have been good. Too many nights on the non-alcoholic Becks?
On a plus note Fiennes single handedly raised the film from a one star to two.
