Worth a watch - Cascarino
For those who watch this film without any preconceptions and having seen no trailers, the intense first 15 minutes will prepare for you an epic thriller which doesn't subsequently materialise. I was blown away by the start but then began to realise that it was settling into being just a decent film. The horrific car crash which kills his father has a devastating impact on 17 year old Kale. A previously good kid becomes aggressive and disfunctional at school, eventually his frustrations become manifest and he punches his teacher, leading to his being put on house arrest. He can't step outside his lawn and is forced to come up with other ways to entertain himself at home, like spying on his beautiful and sexy new neighbour. Then he comes to suspect that another neighbour is a murderer and is terrified to find out that his mom his going on a date with him!The ensuing drama is reasonably well choreographed but it never reaches the heights that the rollicking opening had promised. Overall a decent film but a disappointing anticlimax given the start.
