Pan's Labyrinth
No Hollywood involvement required - DDK
This is the perfect example to show that you don't always need Hollywood to come up with a fantastic movie. Yes it is a fairy tale but is also a great indictment against war in general. If this movie doesn't stir any emotions in you I suggest you see to get counsel. It is colourful and yet dark, it a full of hope and yet it is filled with despair. There are a few scary bits in the movie so it is not suitable for younger viewers. It is really a story about life after death but portrayed in a wonderful way. Guillermo del Toro is a great director which is emphasised in this movie. Watch it and when you are finished just sit down and watch it again.
