Cathy Davey - Tales Of Silversleeve
A must for any music lover. - richeyc2000
Dublin born singer/songwriter Cathy Davey delivers a tidy, enjoyable and enriching album in Tales of Silversleeve. There is something about this style of music that lures you into wanting to replay the tracks again, also the music is performed and sung with confident execution. Both of which are good things but the overall resonance of the music is more pleasant then lasting potent life affirming stuff. There doesn't appear to be a chorus or hook left out that could breathe more life into this music, a very polished album in my opinion. Highlights include Sing For Your Supper, Ruben and, actually there is not one bad song on the album. What we do have though is Davey's treacle sweet vocals that set against atmospherics for the song. It must be considered to be one of the best albums of the year. This is a highly recommended album too add to the collection.
