Hitman
a failure - cillian
The film is barely two minutes old when it has already shot itself in the foot as we watch the formation of the titular hero to the strains of ...you guessed it-Ave Maria. From there the film splutters along. The action sequences are completely uninspired. Even the sniper assassination at the start lacks that certain slickness that we have come to expect from movies like Collateral and to a lesser degree,Shooter. This reviewer has seen better hits in Finland's top twenty charts. The film apes after the Bourne series in the way it switches rapidly to different locations around the world but fails utterly to hold our attention. Olyphant is,well, annoying. His "look at me i'm acting" grimace drives the viewer even further away from ever getting involved. And so instead of what i was hoping for-to be overwhelmed by gunfire, cheesy witticisms and a nonsensical plot- I actually found myslef having to watch this film. It becomes so very apparentyly bad that we find ourselves willing it along towards a conclusion. When that finally arrives it is as daft as it is funny. Somebody involved in the making of this film obviously read somewhere that religous imagery makes thing cooler. It doesn't. Although, seeing our hero hiding in a church as swat teams and helicopters bombard it ,I did find myself praying for deliverance. In the final line of the film Olyphant says, "I hope i never see you again". Over my dead body, Hitman.

There is nothing to dislike about Hitman but there is nothing to really fall in love with either. That said, I found myself disappointed when the credits began to roll. - Denehan

All the hype about the first realy good game to film change just for that. This was rubbish from the word go. Olyphant saves this film from been a total disaster with a good performance, but thats it unfortunetly as far as good things go with this manure. - Red_brian
Game fans will be very happy with how loyal they stuck to the game and that is fair enough but even the most die hard hitman fan could not deny this was a disaster. From awfull dialogue to stupid... MORE
