I must admit that i am not the biggest Sean Penn fan but when it comes to directing he certainly knows what he is doing as seen with Mystic River. His latest project does not disappoint either as he delivers a great account of Christopher Mccandless who disappered after graduating college destroying any link that might lead to him being found. TH e imagery throughout the film is truly breathtaking as Penn captures the American countryside in all its glory especially the white vastness of Alaska. Emile Hirsch delivers a great performance as the rebellious teenager and is well supported by veterans such as Catherine Keener, Vince Vaugn and William Hurt. If you see one film this winter go into the wild
