The Lucky One
Predictable, girly, and terribly romantic! - Kankan
Once you know this is a Nicholas Sparks adaptation, after the first ten minutes or so you could probably write the rest of the script. So, either you love that or hate it about a film. Personally, I think everyone needs one of those films once in a while. There's too many offbeat unpredictable films around now; The Lucky One is pure easy watching.
Zac Efron is a slightly unconvincing burly marine, and I still half expected him to break out in a musical number at any minute following his HSM days, but it doesn't change the fact that destiny, YES DESTINY, has brought him to find his one true love! His bond with the son is a little unusual and they seem to have a lot more laughs than the mother and him, but its needed for the big finale I guess.
If anyone has seen Message In A Bottle (another Sparks gem, and one of my faves!), this is like a fairly diluted version of it. My recommendation is to go see it with the girlies, don't torture anyone who isn't into complete sapfest into sitting through it!
