Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Summary - Alice
Jack's back an this time he has his eye on enternal youth.
After losing his beloved Black Pearl and being doomed to what seemed a life at sea, Captain Jack Sparrow once again manages to escape capture and sets sail towards the Fountain of Youth. In order to achieve this he ends up teaming up with an old flame Angelica who happens to be the daughter of dreaded and feared pirate Blackbeard.
However there are other parties also interested in getting to the Fountain, both the Spanish and the British, who happened to have a seemingly reformed Captain Barbossa working for them. So the race is on though with zombies and killer mermaids in their path it is not an easy one.
With the last pirates movies being less than impressive, Disney have tried here to go back to basics and loose convulated plot-lines for a more action packed and simple storyline.
The new additon of Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane are welcome and though some may say McShane is underused he brings the dark and menacing Blackbeard to life. Cruz also excells as Angelica and both her and Depp have great chemistry. What more can be said about Depp he sparkles in role and gest better with each film.
Personally I believe the 3D was unnecessay but studios are happy enough to stick with 3D at the moment.
All in all a good fun pop flick with will keep both young and old viewers entertained.
