The Next Three Days
Edge of your seat, Gripping and Exciting Stuff!! - HHhhhmmmm....
I had originally no intention of seeing this film as from the trailers and lack of publicity about it I had not expected much from it, however I can now admit that I was pleasantly surprised.
The Next Three Days tells the story of a husband(Russell Crowe) who is desperately attempting to get his wife (Elizabeth Banks), who he believes has been wrongly accused of murder, out of jail. The movie follows him as he goes to desperate measures as he plans to break her out of prison.
We all know Russell Crowe is a great actor, just look at his track record;A Beautiful Mind, Gladiator, and in this film he doesnt disappoint. He plays the role of caring father, loving husband and desperate man perfectly.
Exciting and thrilling this film was great as it portrayed a prison break from the perspective of a man who desperately wanted to piece his family back together. I thought it was an interesting take as we are all very quick to convict a felon but we often forget how this can effect the family they leave behind.
This movie was really gripping with a great combination of drama, suspense and real emotion. It was great to see a break out orchestrated by a seemingly ordinary man and how the pressure and emotion plays a role. It provides an interesting look on how far a desperate man will go.
Currently people are flocking to the cinemas to see oscar nominated; Black Swan and Kings Speech however inmy opinion The Next Three days is definately worth a watch.

Director Paul Haggis handles the drama well, as we know from Crash, but it's the implausible action that fatally flaws the movie as a whole. - Hanley

Could've done with a bit of trimming - GaryB-84
As compelling a thriller as this film was, I'd say it could've done with shedding about a half an hour of its running length. I don't mind a film that takes a bit of extra time to fill out the plot a... MORE
