Shrek the Third
A Good effort and interesting story. - claireg
Many people had been quick to write off the latest installment of the "Shrek" series, even before it hit our screens. I was not expecting a lot but I found I enjoyed the movie. I judged it on it's own merits and not based on the previous two, as I disliked the first and loved the second. The movie mainly focuses on Shrek's worriesof being a king and a father. Puss and Donkey were somewhat in the background for this movie, as is Princess Fiona. One character who basks in the limelight however, is Prince Charming. He really steals the show and is just as hilarious as he was in the previous movie. New characters include, Artie, Merlin (A fantastic comic character) and a gaggle of generic fairytale princesses and villains. Contary to popular belief, I think the character of "Artie" was quite good, and Shrek's interactions with him showed he has finally turned into "a nice guy" but still retains some of his Ogre ways! Overall, the movie is more character driven and lacks a little of the magical atmosphere the last two adventures boasted. It is a different movie, but a good one all the same.
