the car chasing gun wielding sh** talking hard men, sit up and take notes! this is how a you make a real thriller. This film is engaging and you are enthralled in the story from the start. Edge of Darkness is a well paced film with an extremely well thought out plot and is totally believable, unlike some films which attempt a similar story but fail miserably in bringing it across.
Gibbson plays a Boston detective, whose daughter decides to move home, saying she has enough of her job. She is murdered on the front porch and everyone assumes that the gunman was after the cop. Gibbson's character soon realises that he was not the target and embarks on a dangerous mission to find out who was responsible for his daughters death.
I really enjoyed this film. very well paced, which is something that films seem to lack recently. The plot wasnt rushed, you werent trying to keep up, yet you were not bored, or waiting for things to happen either.
Ray Winston just oozes charisma, playing the "man who gets things done" perfectly.
The director totally focuses on the characters and the story, yet there is plenty of action to keep you satisfied.
The other thing I liked, was that the ending was not rushed. you werent left hanging.
Highly recommend this film. and if you are a Gibbson fan, you definitely enjoy it.
