Sherlock Holmes

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I was going to see this but with Downey JR on top form I was was expecting a fair bit of entertainment and it came in spades. While Holmes may be a 19th century Tony Stark of sorts, thats no bad thing. Jude Law is good in support as is Mark Strong as the baddie who is maybe running the risk of being typecast at this point. The movie tips along at a fair old pace with plenty of action sequences and the story being a small nod to some of the occult that I would have associated with Holmes in the past. One thing I was pleasantly surprised about was the look of the movie, it being a bit more authentic than I was expecting with some gritty grey scenes of old London. Some very strong visuals as well with a finale on London Bridge that was top notch for an action movie. Well worth a look in. Here's to a return of the Guy Ritche pre-Madge and hopefully a sequel in the pipeline
