Death at the movies... - lightyagamixxx
First off a funeral would be more exciting than this movie, particulary after when you have had a few "stiff" ones to relieve the sadness of losing a lost one. There is no sadness at this funeral just pure joy on leaving the cinema and realising its all over. If this film was a corpse, no one would turn upto say "goodbye" and no one would mourn the loss of a an absolute shocking pile of rotten carcasses. Chris Rock is the reason most people will turn up to see this but should be aware that he's not funny in this. Not in the slightest. His performance is quite grim and the odd time he comes out with a joke it falls on its backside and doesnt recover. The premise of th film is if something can go wrong it will go wrong and after a while you just keep saying tom yourself "I didn't see that coming" in the most saracstic tone possible. Another dud to note is Martin Lawrence who makes my blood boil as he such a bad actor its comical and thats the only reason he is funny. You feel so much pity for him you just have to laugh at how bad he actually is, yet he doesnt cop this as deep down he porbaly laughs at all his own jokes. Ive been told by some trusty friends that the original is excellent and well worth checking out but I think this film has ruined the chance of me sitting through it as it shares the same name. Like a rotten corpse this film should be avoided at all costs.
