A superb total cinematic experience. Simple as that. Derivative of Visconti, elements of Bertolucci grandly operatic and visually intoxicating it doesn't care and neither should you. Directed with daring precision by Luca Guadagnino this is Tilda's best outing in a long time and she had to do it in Italian. This is how European Cinema SHOULD look.
