Perrier's Bounty

Okay, lets put things into context. This movie deserves more credit then Mike will give. Why? First off, its funny. The camera work is excellent. Each of the performances by the lead actors is rock solid. In particular Brendan Gleenson was a sheer delight because he was in a role that clearly suited him. One could almost believe that he was reliving aspects of 'The General' and was clearly enjoying himself. The dialogue was extremely sharp and so was the sheer pace of the movie. From the outset, one couldnt help but find oneself gripped and locked into the storyline. Every aspect of the movie was timed perfectly and that is a very rare experience these days. Indeed the storyline and script was easy to follow but not insulting simple as youd find in alot of those rehashed girlie flicks - lll say no more on that. So was anything wrong with this movie - yes !! I totally agree with Mike, the never-ending use of the word 'Man', is grating. There is no need to use it as often as it was, and unfortunately, it took from the movie. The duration of the film, some 1.5 hrs, was just right. Any longer and the energy it projected, would have waned somewhat. Overall, its an excellent movie and well worth viewing. Unfortunately, lm not so sure if it would appeal to a broader audience as few non-Irish people might grasp the humour of it. Suffice to say - the movie seemed to be well received by the majority in the auditorium tonight. Most were laughing and fully entertained by the excellent dialogue throughout. A must see, for April 2010.
