A Prophet
Disappointed - O'G
I would agree with the main reviewer that after the inital murder there's a lot of waiting around for something to happen. A Prophet feels like it's competing with La Haine ( another picture I thought was heavy handed, over rated ) in the look at what's really going on stakes and in a lot of ways the plot is all too often too convenient to this end. In a very strange way, not nearly as subtle in it's social commentary as Irreversible and no where near as energetic. Performances are excellent throughout though just, y'know, with a title like A Prophet ...
