Harry Brown

Harry Brown

Gritty, grimey and thoroughly uplifting! - Slick

8 Points

Viewer Rating:Slick has rated Harry Brown rating: 4 Star

A grey and depressing film saved by Harry Palmer himself, Michael Caine - go on Carter! Put aside the socio-economic debate about bad guys and vigilantes, Mr Brown only targets the truly evil. This allows your conscience relax as Mr Right sets out to dispatch Mssrs Wrong, and he does so with a soldier's ease - it's clear, they are the urban enemy of all things decent, and they pushed this marine a step too far. Unable to get to his dying wife in time, his best friend murdered on camera, because of hoodrats and a violently upheld siege of the community, Brown has seen that the police are powerless, and the courts more so. With nothing left to lose he brings dignity and respect from the barrels of assorted weapons. The ending is great too. My advice, relax into this, enjoy Caine's fine acting, and see a little justifiable retribution - save the conflicted debate for another time.
