I really need to stop going to the cinema, when week after week - lm subjecting myself and my partner to agonising dribble. Perhaps its like fishing. One keeps on hoping that this once - youll get what you want. In this case, its a good movie. The storyline of this film could have been written by a semi-conscious child. The humour is non-existent, unless one is clinically brain dead or so immature and generally thick, that they would find it amusing and very funny. What alarmed me as always with contemporary comedies is the way in which the young audience are laughing hysterically at mindless violence and brutality which is devoid of a context on which to develop a basis for humour. George Clooney gave a very strong performance as did the other actors, and l agree with Mike Sheridan, that Kevin Space was left short on being able to bring his acting talents to the fore. Overall, l can give this movie a rating of 1 for no other reason then, it wasnt so bad that l had to look at my watch in desperation. American Humour is best kept in the US where it belongs. It has no place in Europe. In comparison to the mind numbing misery of 9, this movie will intrigue you to some extent. However, by the time you get beyond the 3/4 mark, youll finally realise that the entire film lacks something. In my opinion its substance.
