Waveriders
Better than other films of its ilk - roxxyy
Over the past 10 years i've seen quite a few of these nostalgic docus looking at the roots of some counter culture movement or other. They over romanticisation the past/present - dare say exadurate. I dont think waveriders is so different. HOWEVER - it has two things going for it. It does follow a nice narrative which save the protagonists repeating the same material over and over which can happen in this category of docu. Also there is some absolutely excellent art direction in the first half and general great filming all around. As docs of this category goes - this is one of the best and knocks a turd like "Dog Town And Z-Boyz" out of the toilet bowl. rox @ www.webdesignkildare.ie

Some films are meant to be seen on the big screen! This is no Big Wednesday, the major stars here are the waves. Starting from the story of the humble, understated, selfless and decent Irish-Hawaian... MORE

Worth it for the last 5 mins - JM
A poor son of Riding Giants, which had bigger waves and bigger personalities. Cinematography ok but lighting could have been better. Get the feeling that it was a well put together point and shoot... MORE
