Monsters Vs Aliens is definitely one of those movies that for no reason at all you just have to go see it. It's probably the best kids film you will see in ages and there are a fair few subtle jokes for adults hidden in the script. The animation is pretty standard, it's nothing spectacular but suits this movie well as there is a proper balance in the use of effects and the use of writing. The film is available in 3D, and while this neither adds or takes from how good the movie is, the 3D version did make the show more enjoyable. Monsters Vs Aliens has a perfect balance between 3D effects and script. This is a hard thing to do in 3D movies, as some movies go overboard on the 3D part that you end up with a load of special effects and no story, or on the other extreme you end up with a movie that's all story and it was just put in 3D for the sake of it (The Jonas Brothers will be one of those movies). Another good thing about this movie is that, for a kids movie, it isn't heavy on 'the moral of the story' kind of deeper meaning stuff you tend to get normally, there is a little bit of accepting people for who they are but it's nowhere nearly as preachy as Wall-E was (although a good movie itself). Featuring an all star cast Monsters Vs Aliens sports the voices of Seth Rogan as a dumb but loveable blue blob and Will Arnett as an ancient fish man known as the missing link, along with others such as Reese Witherspoon and Paul Rudd, this is a must see film for people of all ages.
