I was really looking forward to seeing this movie after hearing non stop about it, lots of excellent reviews and numerous award nominations. We watched it the other night and found ourselves getting bored. There is no story line except that of an aging wrestler who is a f**k up of a father and has a shi*t life. It basically shows the everyday life of him. Which is very sad and depressing in my view. No money, lives in a trailer park, can hardly pay his rent, has an estranged daughter whom he keeps letting down, has a heart attack, loves a woman who does not want him, yadda yadda..... when it seems things are looking up for him - his daughter wants to give him another try, Cassidy (the woman he wants) actually wants him and he blows it, saying the fans are the only people that love him. Films ends with him in the ring doing his trademark wrestle move "the ram jam". Disappointment.
