worth a look - Darragh
coined as the feelgood movie of the year, slumdog Millionaire gets the passing grade from this critic. presented in non-linear sequence, the film creatively captures the upbringing of a young Indian boy, his brother and least we forget, the on-going love interest, in an attempt to explain how an unlikely millionaire came about on a gameshow. screenplay rich with Danny Boyle humour, accompanied by an exceptionally good score almost distracts from the implausibilities of some of the relationships established. What exactly our protagonist did to upset a deeply resentful gameshow host (flaw) is anyones guess. Still trying to figure out how exactly he gets the girl in the end. perplexing.Hard to ignore such discrepancies. Needless to say, our friends the other side of the Atlantic will turn a blind next February. Definate Oscar contender.
