Slick, American, Predictable - Music Man
Its hard not to be a little proud of The Script being Irish, I mean who else have we seen flying the Irish Flag musically for a long time now??? No one gets signed anymore out side Irish internal deals! We can be predictable harsh as English people are with their acts, or we can strip ourselves of other countries influences. Its easy to hate The Script, but why would we?? So The Script arrive, and Im happy its just not another Indie act to fade in with an already drowned market courtesy of the UK. But on the flip side the Script could easily fade into a different Genre, the has beens. Their not quite pop, their not quite rock, they are right in the middle. So they can join other acts like Keane, Scouting for Girls, James Morrison, Daniel Powter..... But The Script stand out for me even amongst the middle of the road folk. They have an extra ingredient, soul, funk...A vibe! They have a pretty lead singer, a slick image, dress sense, style. Manufactured of Pass boy bands, past mid rock bands, experienced in the music business these guys have done there time and learned there lessons well. In the end the 3 lads know their place, they know their audience. And this album is good if you're a Teenager to early 30's person who just likes good radio friendly music. There are plenty out there who'll enjoy this record! User friendly.
