I'm very upset to see some of the reviews of this wonderful little film. Accusations of it being a rip off of "Shallow Grave". You know that there's something wrong with this country when a lovely little homegrown gem gets slammed by humourless crumudgeons who can't even muster the wit to write a comprehensively damning review of a film that they clearly don't get. You know the story and stars so I'll spare you the recap. A Film With Me In It is a wonderful balancing act that won't leave the more discerning cinema goer dissapointed. Its post modern without being patronizing, dark without being heartless, and sometimes extremely zany without losing sympathy for the main characters. Dylan Moran is wonderful in a film role that finally makes use of his comedic abilities and the brothers Doherty (Mark and David O') dazzle, unafraid to play the straight man and heart of the movie respectively. There are some creaky moments here and there, but they're far outweighted by its many, many laugh out loud moments that Do yourself a favour and bring some of your smarter mates out to this wonderful little treat of a film.
