Although it's been almost too long without a sequel, 'Zombieland 2' is finally beginning to materialise with a date set to begin shooting.

Speaking to Fandango, director Ruben Fleischer - who's also just finished work on 'Venom' with Tom Hardy - enthused about the comedy sequel finally coming together and confirmed a January start date for filming. "I've been scouting and storyboarding and getting it going, and to get to work with that cast again is just an absolute dream come true," Fleischer beamed.

"It's been really exciting starting to think about that movie, and to get to work with Emma, Jesse, Woody and Abigail once again is truly a dream come true. Yeah, we're just at the very early stages, but we have an amazing script, and we're going to start shooting in Georgia in January."

Details on the plot were sketchy, however original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are understood to be setting the movie more or less ten years after the original, according to Fleischer. "I mean, it's been 10 years, so who knows what the world will look like at this point," said Fleischer.

'Zombieland 2' is headed for cinemas in October 2019.
