Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder has admitted that the negative critical reviews caught him off guard.

Whilst our own Brian Lloyd gave the film three stars, the majority of critics panned the film and it has an aggregate rating of 27% on Rotten Tomatoes

When asked about the critical reception recently Snyder revealed that he was not expecting such a negative reaction.

“When Batman v Superman came out, I was like, ‘Wow, okay, oof,’" he told Vulture. “It did catch me off guard.

Snyder admitted that the critical response made him rethink his approach for the follow up, Justice League

“I have had to, in my mind, make an adjustment. I do think that the tone of Justice League has changed because of what the fans have said.”

According to journalists who participated in a recent Justice League set visit, it seems that the movie will have a funnier and lighter tone with one interaction between Batman and The Flash being likened to the scenes between Tony Stark and Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War.
