The Tribeca Film Festival is a very big deal, having been co-founded by Robert DeNiro, apparently in direct reaction to 9/11. A celebration of New York via the medium of cinema, the festival's mission is "to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience."

With movies arriving from all over the world, and short films including talent such as Danny DeVito, Sigourney Weaver, Sophia Loren, Sally Hawkins, Steve Buscemi and loads more besides, so when an Irish film gets its premiere there, that too is also a very big deal.

As is the case with "Scratch":

Co-written and directed by Phillip Kelly and co-written and produced by Liam Ryan, "Scratch" tells the story of Eoin (Conor Drum), who is working the night shift at a quiet petrol station. His night is disturbed initially by scratch card addict Ger (Stephen Jones), and then a masked robber who sends their night into a direction they could never have guessed.

The festival takes place in New York from April 16th to 27th, so anyone in the area might want to pop along to support this small Irish film. #COYBIG
