Poltergeist is a classic horror film, so why they'd want to remake it, we'll never know.
Still, here we are talking about. Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt play the happy couple who happen to buy a house on top of a burial ground.
As with all horror movies, the burial ground is home to some VERY angry ghosts who will do everything they can to scare the bejaysus out of anyone above ground.
Mad Men's Jared Harris takes the role of the medium from the original one and comes with a very noticeable OIRISH accent that we're going to have great fun picking apart when this opens.
So, initial thoughts? Again, we'd question any remake - horror ones, especially - when the original films are so beloved by fans.
That said, we're big fans of Sam Rockwell and they're looks like an homage of sorts to the original one's campiness in places.
We especially like the tiny clown too, so that's something. It could be good. There's a bit of promise here.
We'll have to wait until July 24th to see if it pays off.
