It’s no Walking Dead but it does happen to be the highest-grossing film series to be based on video games of all time. Make of that what you will.

The Final Chapter, which is the sixth and (apparently) final film has been summarised as the following: ‘Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead.

‘Now, she must return to where the nightmare began – The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.’

The film sees the return of Milla Jovovich alongside cast members Ali Larter (Legally Blonde), Shawn Roberts and Iain Glen (GOT). Newcomers to the cast include OITNB’s Ruby Rose and Fair City actor Eoin Macken.

So what are our thoughts? Well there’s lots of fire, explosions, and creepy monsters (because good old-fashioned zombies just don’t cut it anymore). It doesn’t look like there’s a whole lot of thought put into it (the franchise has been becoming increasingly illogical as it progresses) but screw it, at least we'll see how they bring it all to an end.

One last hurrah:
