Katherine Heigl's had a funny relationship with success.

After her blowout performance in Knocked Up, it looked like we had a new talent rising up. Then, she did a string of flat, dull, unoriginal comedies and a few stories cropped up that she wasn't terribly nice.

Then, it seemed, she was more or less done with mainstream success. Or is she?

Jenny's Wedding sees Heigl as a young woman's who kept hidden her lesbian relationship with Alexis Biedel (yes, Rory from Gilmore Girls), but comes out to her family (Tom Wilkinson, Mamie Gummer).

Naturally, this causes all sorts of rifts and tensions that serves as the core of the film.

Written and directed by Mary Agnes Donoghue of Beaches fame, Jenny's Wedding is due for release on July 31st.
