Over the past 8 years or so we’ve had the pleasure of interviewing some of the biggest names in movies and music. But every once and a while you get a chance to sit down with someone who genuinely shaped the career path you chose, or some small part of the person you became by their work. For this particular writer that person was Jon Favreau and that movie was Swingers.

Favreau graduated to big budgeted studio tent pole flicks after Elf made a fortune at the box office, and directed two Iron Man flicks, ostensibly creating a template for the most profitable series in the history of cinema - The Avengers.

Now he’s back to what he does best; writing, directing AND staring in his own character driven comedy production, Chef. While he has some big names (Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson) involved, it seems to be very much his film and all the better for it.

It opens on US screens in May and hopefully here soon after.
