The WWE superstar has tried his hand at action movies and comedy – next he’ll lend his voice to animation.

Ferdinand, a joint venture from Fox and Blue Sky Studio (best-known for the Ice Age films), follows a mild-mannered bull who is mistaken for a fierce beast, captured, and torn from his home. Now he must find a way back and will enlist the help of his misfit animal friends.

Directed by Carlos Saldanha (Rio), Ferdinand is based on the children’s book The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf, and also stars the voices of Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Daveed Diggs, Anthony Anderson, Bobby Cannavale, Gabriel Iglesias, and David Tennant.

It is due for release in December.
