Ok, usually for these teaser yokes you're lucky if you get a brief second glimpse of the main character, but fortunately we’re getting a look at both leads in the first trailer for the highly anticipated Blade Runner sequel.

There's a real Mad Max feel from the red quality of the trailer which sees Ford’s iconic character Rick Deckard say: ‘replicants are like any other machine — they are either a benefit or a hazard. If they are a benefit, it’s not my problem.’ The footage also shows Gosling walking through a red mist and into a building where he meets Ford.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the sequel is written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green. It also stars Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis, and Sylvia Hoeks.

The official synopsis reads: ‘Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.’

Blade Runner 2049 hits theatres 6th October 2017.
