It's probably fair to say that Quentin Tarantino likes to use violence in his films more than the average director. Like Judd Apatow with penis jokes, or Judd Apatow with weed jokes, or Judd Apatow with....OK, this could go on for a while.

Anyway, we've seen so many limbs torn off, heads decapitated, and bullets blowing through every possible part of the human anatomy, that some of us may have gotten a little too used the gruesomeness of your ordinary Tarantino flick.

Regardless of how striking the violence is the first time around, it's hard to keep up a constant state of shock, and we tend to grow somewhat numb to it.
