Starring Domhnall Gleeson and written and directed by Alex Garland (perhaps best known for being the man behind 28 Days Later), the trailer for Ex Machina has arrived and it looks like a cracker.

The movie will tell the story of Caleb (Gleeson) a young programmer who is invited along to participate in a groundbreaking study of artificial intelligence. He will spend his time with Ava (Alicia Vikander) who is the A.I. in question, and from there, things start to change.

The movie's tagline, "to erase the line between man and machine is to obscure the line between men and gods" looks to be suitably ominous, as the film is set to explore the issues raised by artificial intelligence, creating a device that can pass the Turing Test, and adds some sexual tension to the mix for good measure.
